Call for Papers
In terms of information technology, convergence is defined as a multi-media network where signals of different type may be seamlessly transmitted, translated and exchanged flawlessly achieving seamless interface among applications. On the other hand, in the media research, convergence refers to the removal of entry barriers across the IT, telecoms, media and consumer electronics industries, creating one large 'converged' industry. In recent years it has also come to refer specifically to the ongoing 'bundling' of services by telecoms players, resulting in 'multiple play' among fixed line phone, TV, broadband services, and mobile phone.
Though these two slightly different use of the term, ¡®convergence¡¯ originates from different views on technological network and media convergence, this phenomenon have strong influence on business, industry and society. For example, convergence culture refers to emerging phenomena where old and new media collide, where grassroots and corporate media intersect, where the power of the media producer and the power of the media consumer interact. New businesses around social networking such as blogging, ucc, and Wikipedia are emerging within a short period of time.
In this regard, ICCIT¡¯07 invites new and original submissions addressing theoretical and practical topics and its applications in convergence information technologies.
Submitted papers will be peer-reviewed.
